Public Service, Mental Health Service
Update: Our community told us we need to make some changes. In response, we are improving the way mental health services work with you. We want to assure you we will talk with all service users and their whaanau about how changes might affect their care. If you have any questions please talk to your mental health clinician.
Who Do We See?
Our service is open to men from throughout the Auckland region, including Counties Manukau, Auckland and Waitemata DHBs. Most of the men we see have severe mental health problems that have not responded to previous mental health support.
Along with mental health issues you may be experiencing other issues that impact on your health and wellbeing, including drug and alcohol issues, intellectual disability and housing issues. Our role is to support you to manage these and any other issues that may impact on your mental health.
Where Are We Based?
Our minimally secure recovery centre is located at 30 Bairds Road, Otara. In this centre we provide round-the-clock nursing care, as well as a range of therapeutic activities. We are a small unit with a maximum of twenty residents, each of whom have their own private bedrooms.
Your family/whaanau, friends and community members are welcome to visit you during visiting hours or at the discretion of the senior nurse on duty.
