Raoul is a clinical geneticist from Germany. He has been a collaborative team player in the clinical genetic service. He’ll always greet you with a genuine smile and calm voice. Raoul endeavours for the best as he is very detailed and thorough in his assessments.
He is very gentle and culturally sensitive with families in clinic especially in discussions of difficult subjects such as a new genetic diagnosis for a child. He shows empathy and instils hope. He often supports his colleagues, listens to others, shows gratitude and takes feedback in a very humble way striving to improve himself constantly. He is a great example of what a mentor should be like. I have considered him a mentor as he leads by example and he always gives feedback whether positive or critical in a constructive way. He made me a better doctor and thus he’s my hero.
