Auckland DHB recently received the Carbon Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme (CEMARS) Certificate.
To achieve this, the DHB has committed to monitor and maintain a carbon reduction programme. We will be audited annually against this.
The award was presented to CEO Ailsa Claire at the Sustainability Strategy Workshop.
Ms Claire says, “This is a key milestone for us. If all 10,000 people in the organisation can make a small change, together we can make a big difference.”
At the workshop, Eco Store CEO Malcom Rands shared an inspiring story about the work his company has done, and Dr Mehdi Shahbazpour from the University of Auckland guided staff on the development of a strategy to reduce emissions through energy, travel, transport, procurement and waste.
