Emergency road works to Park Road bus lane

Downer, the infrastructure services company, will be carrying out some emergency road works to the bus lane on Park Road, opposite the hospital entrance, to repair the damaged road surface which has become dangerous for buses and cyclists. The work includes milling off the existing road surface and applying a new surface layer and line marking the road. This work will take place tonight Tuesday 30 May 2017 from approximately 10pm to 2am.

There will be noise disruption to the surrounding area while this work is underway. The milling operation, which is the noisiest part of the operation, should be completed by 11.30pm. The sound will be similar to a slow moving freight train. Noise experienced in the paving operation will be the reversing beepers from the rollers. These are shorter bursts when reversing over the asphalt. For safety these beepers can’t be disconnect.

Traffic will be maintained around the worksite and Emergency Services will have full access to Grafton at all times.
